Often people, I include myself in this observation, make what seems to be a logical or sensible decision without thinking the choices and ramifications through. We take facts making the choice based on superficial reasoning. The results of this can be tragic.
A man I know hurt his back. He doesn't have health insurance because he is an ex-heroine user. Insurance companies won't take him on and he is self employed.
Because he has no insurance he decided not to go to the doctor. Instead he took pain perscrition medication from a friend. This, on the surface, seems a good choice. A hundred dollar office call. Perscription costs. Possible physical therapy costs, etc.
Unfortunately, this choice has led him back onto the heroine. His wife has now left with their three year old son. I don't know if his business is suffering but she is now living in the rental they own which had five college students all paying rent.
The choice made without thinking of possible negative outcomes on one fact has had unintended consequences. Think before you decide. Pencil out the options if that helps you. Look into alternative possibilities.
Maybe this marriage could have been saved if he had chosen to spend his money wisely on proper medical treatment rather than drugs.
