Sophie Dawson
Stories have always fluttered through my head. With my children grown and gone, my volunteer work at my church changing I've felt God leading me in a different direction. The stories now wanted to get out. Thus Stories of Faithful Living was born.
My goal is to demonstrate that it is possible to live and make choices which Christ would want us to. My chosen genre is Historical Fiction. All the books will have a Christian focus passing on what God has taught me through the years and continues to teach me. I hope you find the books enjoyable as well as showing the benefits of dealing with issues common to man in God's way. All my books available in Standard and Large Print. All formats of ebooks are also available. If you have trouble finding them let me know. Blogs I post on

Cottonwood Series
Set in Iowa in the 1875 this series of three books shares common characters dealing with issues which we can identify with today even though the era is different. Biblical truths and wisdom never change.
Healing Love tells the story of Lydia and Sterling who marry after being found to have spent the night in the same livery stable, not knowing the other person was there. The gossips in town spread the "news," adding to the story as it passes from person to person to person. Can Lydia heal in spirit and body? Will Sterling's pride get in the way? Can they make their marriage honor God? In Lord's Love, Lord St. John Lytton in debt to his father, is sent to Cottonwood to find work and humility. His first job is working in a livery stable.
Maggie Taylor moves from under the thumb of her mother with a job at the newspaper and apartment. Blooming into a confident young woman learning to support herself Maggie loves her independence. St. John, Sinjon, to his friends, thinks his way to both Maggie's heart and the Lord's is through doing rather than faith. Will Maggie accept a marriage to a man who doesn't share her faith? Brought together in grief and need, Drew and Katie join in raising Joel and infant Anne in Giving Love.
Common losses, fear, love for the children give them things to share and to tear them apart. Honoring the memories, each dealing with their own grief, yet looking ahead with hope challenge their faith and future. |
