Hebrew was not the language spoken in Israel during the time of Yeshua. They spoke Aramaic. In an attempt to immerse the reader into the culture I have chosen to use Hebrew words since they are more familiar in our modern times.

There are many verses in the Old Testament in which Hashem uses this phrase. Not only did it characterize the Israelites in ancient times, but it often describes us today.
Isaiah 1:11-14
