I was reading Genesis 1-5 and began realizing the great mercy and patience that the Lord has for us. Rather than making us pay for our sin at the time we commit it, He is patient. Yahweh waits for us to accept our culpability, admit it to Him, ask for forgiveness and proceed living closer to Him using what we learned from our experience.
Adam not only ate the fruit that Eve gave to him but he had heard what the serpent implied about God. The serpent presented a twisted motive concerning the tree of Knowledge and Adam said nothing to correct it. Then he passed the buck to Eve when Jesus questioned him. Eve then passed the buck on to the serpent when given the opportunity to admit her action. There is no evidence that they asked forgiveness for what they had done even after God dealt out His punishments. Cain, rather than accepting the rebuke and offer of resubmitting his offering with the proper attitude he compounded his sin rather than listen to Jesus and doing what was offered to correct his sin. Jesus asks Cain what has happened, even though He knew, offering Cain the chance to come clean. Instead, what did Cain do? He whined to God about how unfair his punishment was. What a wicked and self-serving people we are. Even then Jesus did not strike Cain down. He had mercy and protected Cain from vengeance. God has so much patience with us. It is astounding to me. I need to remember this and extend that same patience to others. I need to admit my sin to God and truly regret and repent of it. I need to listen when the Spirit questions me on my actions so that I can recognize when I sin and own up to it, not pass the buck or rationalize it away. I need to accept the consequences and do right to be accepted by God instead of whining as to how unfair life is treating me or rationalizing away my sin. By doing this I can learn to be the person who walks with God and hopefully draw others to Him.

Isn't God good? I've received more 5 star reviews for the Stones Creek books, Leah's Peace and Chasing Norie. Both earned the ratings on Readers' Favorite a site dedicated to reviewing for both free or paid honest reviews. It's the same site Healing Love received an silver award and Giving Love was a finalist for 2013.
Here are the review links. Leah's Peace Chasing Norie At the moment Leah's Peace is on sale for .99 on Amazon for your kindle. If you have a different reader contact me at sophiedawson1 at me.com and I'll send you a Smashwords coupon to purchase it at .99. Again, I'm asking that if you've read any of my books that you please leave a message on Amazon whether you purchased it there or not. I'm unable to promote my books in other places since they require a minimum of 10 at least 4 star reviews. I'm not asking for a certain star rating, only honest reviews. Thank you to all who've reviewed my novels in the past. I truly appreciate your Now that Redeeming Love has been out for almost a month the question I'd like to ask is: Do you know which of us wrote what parts?
PG and I shared the writing of Redeeming Love. We know our own characters very well and the other's pretty well. During the writing we often Facetimed each other as we worked. Sometimes one of us would say to the other, "You write this scene." So, can you tell? Leave a comment. I'll reply. Yes, I know the smiley is trite but I feel like using one. ;) Leah's Peace has been reformatted and is now on sale for .99 on Amazon. If you have the Kindle edition update Leah's Peace. I thought you would like the recipe for Mother Lee’s Rolls. This recipe was given to my mother by a friend of hers. When I married I found out Mother Lee was a relation to my husband’s great grandmother. I’m not sure what but I do know these will be the best rolls you ever put in your mouth. I’ve made them into dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, small loaves of bread (varying the baking time of course). Enjoy. Mother Lee’s Rolls
The way I form the rolls is by rolling them out, 1/4 dough at a time, 1/4 inch think. Cut with a round cutter. Dip in melted butter and fold over to create half circles. Have the rolls touching in the pan. With the cutter I use 13 will fit in a cake pan and 4 columns by about 10 - 12 rows in a jelly roll pan. I get 3 cake pans and 1 jelly roll pan. You can do the math. ;) If you want to have them the same day substitute 1 cup warm water for the cold and let rise and proceed as directed. I hope you enjoy Mother Lee’s rolls as much as we do. |
