Oh Lord, there is trouble in my soul
Trouble of my own making Help me, Oh God For I cannot do what's right Humble me, break me, I ask You reply, You've taken the first step Speak loudly to me, Holy Spirit You reply, You must obey what I say I cannot obey on my own You reply, I am here to help I want to use what You've given You reply, I will tell you when and how I'm tired from striving for You You reply, be still, rest, wait, and obey I remember now, Your yoke is easy I've taken on more than You gave I'll put down the load, and rest I'll wait and carry Your will for me

Last time I wrote about developing a web presence that doesn’t look like you’re trying to sell your book so that when you do publish people will buy it. Since then I’ve done a lot of reading on the subject.
There are many blogs about creating this web presence. Essentially, they all give the same advise: Website, Facebook, Twitter, blog. They varied in the way they put it into action but the message was consistent. Also, you are to blog to those who will buy and read your books. ![]() This week I’ve been working on trying to figure out this ‘web presence’ thing. Y’all know I’m writing a series of Christian Historical Novels. The first is about ready to go to an editor. The others are in various stages. Well, since I’m planning on publishing them this year I’ve got to develop a web presence. I don’t think this is a platform out in cyber space that I sit on but I’m not sure. As I’ve learned an author, no matter if she plan to go the traditional publishing house way or self publish, needs to do pre-publishing work on the web so when the novel is finally available someone besides her family and close friends might buy it. ![]() We flew home from a vacation in the Caribbean over the weekend. A wonderful time and all that, but we learned a few things I thought might be helpful. Not really about the Caribbean or specifics about where we stayed or dined. Rather the things we learned were practical, to be remembered and used in the future for vacation planning and execution. |
