What should I pray for concerning myself? This is something I struggle with. Asking for something for myself has always been a problem for me. I have been so blessed in my life that asking for something seems ungrateful for what God has lavished on me. So what do I pray for? I have prayed for wisdom and God has graciously been increasing my understanding of the Word and thus of Him. I know that this understanding and thus wisdom will increase as time goes on. I am grateful for Her (the Spirit’s) faithfulness in this.

By Kathryn C Lang I took this on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not my normal genre but I was caught up in the story. Beth's husband is murdered in the first two pages. His dying word is "RUN." Now Beth has been running for three years. She has now settled after changing her name to Sara. Now unmailed letters begin appearing in her mailbox. Consisting of only a few words they lead her to realize that someone wants her to look more deeply into her husband's death. The story captured my attention from the beginning and held it throughout. It's a great summer read. The only thing I wanted was more detail in what the entity her husband was involved in was. It seemed to be something between a cult and organized crime. Along the way she finds good Christian friends, one man especially, who help her as she seeks peace. She finds this in Christ. It was believable in that she doesn't understand it entirely all of a sudden. I think she might have read, or at least been interested in reading Scripture a little more. Considering what she was going through and the pace of the investigation I understand. The hand of God in the conclusion was evident and not over done.
Good start Kathryn. I hope your next book comes soon and is a sequel. It's entitled 'Watch' so I think it might. Gleaned that information from her website. Often people, I include myself in this observation, make what seems to be a logical or sensible decision without thinking the choices and ramifications through. We take facts making the choice based on superficial reasoning. The results of this can be tragic.
A man I know hurt his back. He doesn't have health insurance because he is an ex-heroine user. Insurance companies won't take him on and he is self employed. Because he has no insurance he decided not to go to the doctor. Instead he took pain perscrition medication from a friend. This, on the surface, seems a good choice. A hundred dollar office call. Perscription costs. Possible physical therapy costs, etc. Unfortunately, this choice has led him back onto the heroine. His wife has now left with their three year old son. I don't know if his business is suffering but she is now living in the rental they own which had five college students all paying rent. The choice made without thinking of possible negative outcomes on one fact has had unintended consequences. Think before you decide. Pencil out the options if that helps you. Look into alternative possibilities. Maybe this marriage could have been saved if he had chosen to spend his money wisely on proper medical treatment rather than drugs. I’ve just released my first Historical Fiction novel Healing Love. I’ve blogged, Facebooked, Pinterested and Twitted no it’s Tweeted on the web. I sent out press releases to newspapers, radio and TV stations. I called them back. I’ve done all the things which I’ve been told to do for a book launch. I did do a launch event and sold fifty, yes 50, print copies of Healing Love. This doesn’t include copies I will be getting to friends who didn’t attend the launch but told me they want a copy. I’m told this is a large number of book sales at a signing. So how did I do it? I piggy-backed. |
