By Kathryn C Lang I took this on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not my normal genre but I was caught up in the story. Beth's husband is murdered in the first two pages. His dying word is "RUN." Now Beth has been running for three years. She has now settled after changing her name to Sara. Now unmailed letters begin appearing in her mailbox. Consisting of only a few words they lead her to realize that someone wants her to look more deeply into her husband's death. The story captured my attention from the beginning and held it throughout. It's a great summer read. The only thing I wanted was more detail in what the entity her husband was involved in was. It seemed to be something between a cult and organized crime. Along the way she finds good Christian friends, one man especially, who help her as she seeks peace. She finds this in Christ. It was believable in that she doesn't understand it entirely all of a sudden. I think she might have read, or at least been interested in reading Scripture a little more. Considering what she was going through and the pace of the investigation I understand. The hand of God in the conclusion was evident and not over done.
Good start Kathryn. I hope your next book comes soon and is a sequel. It's entitled 'Watch' so I think it might. Gleaned that information from her website.

What a compelling recommendation! 📖💫 This sounds like the perfect blend of suspense and faith - a page-turner with heart. I love that the spiritual journey felt authentic rather than forced, and that ending with God's hand evident (but not heavy-handed) is so refreshing. The mystery of those unmailed letters gives me chills! Adding this to my summer reading list immediately. Can't wait to check out the potential sequel 'Watch' too - great detective work spotting that on the author's site! 🙌
